Success factor for an E-Commerce Startup company

Happened to take notes for my new e-commerce store.

1. Cultivate an adaptable organization (structure and process), built for profit from the outset.
2. Develop a flexible, evolutionary business plan based on target and market dynamics to take advantage of new opportunity.
3. Minimize experimental phase, start-up expenditure and aim for strategic fit.
4. Utilize in-house synergies and ELK across functional departments and sites.
5. Introduce creativity and flexibility in reciprocal-links and joint-marketing ventures.
6. Employ multiple revenue streams (via multi-niche web strategies).
7. Develop strong, credible online brand, with strategic focus on quality, service and delivery.
8. Generate quality, clear visual and written product descriptors.
9. Build and maintain loyal customer base (highly-target each niche).
10. Employ and monitor customer retention programmes.
11. Engage customer creativity to aid site stickiness (i.e. retail theatre concept).
12. Continuously search for and add value to the customer.
13. Avoid “commoditizing” product offerings.

15. Enhance service opportunity (e.g. customer as designer).
16. Regularly update sites to incorporate fresh added value and new technology.

Google Cops crackdown Paid Links

Few of my sites google Page Rank has went down with -1. After googling found that google came down heavily

on paid links. My web directory holdyourlinks.com received Rank 3. I was expecting Page Rank 5

Another site with page rank 6 went down to 3 because of link juice. I put ebuytool.com link there with “powered by” text in some spiritual site.

Ebuytool.com is dropped to 0 from 1 :(. AS Dan Sullivan claims google doesn’t like paid links Your site will be penalized if you sell the links.

My perturbations is one are two links related to your site content would be fine. Latest algorithm weigh more on Social Bookmarking links than Directory Listing , blog posting links or blog commenting links.

The Avivadirectory.com has been removed from google indexing. Where EnsureDirctory.com awarded with page rank 5.

Send a begging email to Amazon.com webmaster to link your site? No.

Choose a product either book/dvd/CD anything related to your Niche site and review it with your website url as a signature link. Normally amazon validate your review and post it if required. If your review is not that great they simply delete it.

There is another way that you can make the amazon link to your url. Register yourself as a amazon associate . Create a Estore related to your site Niche. For example I have created this Web Directory store . When you create your estore url please make sure the tracking id is related to your site domain name or something more relevant to the keyword you are targeting.

Choose the dispaly about us page and your site description as well as indepth links you want them rank well. You can also external links in the category section too. Drag and drop categories filtered on matching key words, that you want to sell on your webstore. Adding relevant product category make your link more organic.

Once you build your estore dont forget to inform google and other search engine about your new estore. Idiscovered a free tool which make your site indexed with in 24 hours.

If you want to build more than 500 links from legitimate sites, Create as many 500 blogs either in blog spot, myspace where ever free blog  creation is available.  Put your site link there.  To keep the created blogs alive setup the automatic blog posting. There is plenty of auto bloggers in the market the best one I recommend  is blogtorank tool. It is better than blogtorss.com tool.  Blogtorank comes with two different option. Run the auto blogger on your desktop or hosted on CPANEL hosting server.  You can setup as many 1000 blogs.

Adsense Video unit - Officially Launched

Received email from Google adsense team that they officially launched the video unit.

The video unit has been associated with YouTube , where your google adsense account will be linked with youtube account.

Found few issues.

No preview option available for the selected category / provider

You cannot change the height/ width of the video display

You can not change the background, border colors.

The adsense snippet code look like product affiliation marketing

You can not do individual tracking using channels.

Buying a Text Link In Ebay

EBay become profitable dumping of every one garage store. I found cheap site wide links for 4.99$ for three months. The site has more than 500 indexed pages. It is one of the best deal that I ever got.

That site created 3 years ago which i verified from Way back machine www.archive.org

All those years the site is talking about SEO, Search Engine Submission and Web hosting.

I also verified the IP address of the site to confirm whether it is on shared hosting or not. Unfortunately that site is running on Shared hosting more than 76 sites are hosted on that C IP class. Verified all those sites to confirm that they are not hosting any adult material.
Find all the web sites running on shared hosting IP address Went through all previously published links as well as their anchor text. All of them 25 character long and where using only alpha characters in thier link.

To stay out from other link crowd I have decided to include a number in my anchor link. Also included the keyword for higher Search engine ranking.

Conversion of Google Referrals Products!!

When I logged in google adsense account there is a congratulation message claiming that my account has been upgraded to display the google referral products.

Thought i can display few such products on my site ( “Maharishi university”, “Don’t go to dentist”) but no conversion at all.

I can see people anxiously click on those ads but not buying anything from the target site.

Sooner or later i will not be surprised to see the hyped emails from google saying ” Read the success story of internet marketer who become millionaire in overnight by selling google referral products” Like  “Joel comm” and “Patric chan” internet marketing emails 
Same thing goes to amazon product too. I am using amazon XML webservice to display the relevant books and DVDs.  From my tracker i could see that more than 300 clicks/ has been made on Amazon referral products with zero sales.

Is those products landing page is not convincing or am i presenting to pleasure browsers? need to find out.

Better change to something else i guess?

Web site to learn link Building strategy

Finally I bought a new website to learn how to get the hands on experience on link building strategy. www.holdyourlinks.com is an paid web directory, purchased for $850.00 in site point. I should admit that i didn’t do enough home work before buying this site.

I acquired this Backlinks directory 4 months ago. When I bought that web directory the rank was 330,000. But with in 2 weeks the alexa rank surged to 530,000. Had a feeling that seller might have used some robots to increase Alexa ranking to get the better price.Left the site un attended for couple of month, received no revenue.

Then paid $100.00 to redesign the site.

And paid $175.00 to get link PR7 link for just one month.

Nothing brought any revenue.

Then tried a signature link in digitalpoint for 35$/month and another digital signature in ibuytools for 20$/month

I think that brought some $20.00 revenue.

Currently working on getting 50 forum post and 5o blog comments.

Also keeping my hand crossed for Googe page rank update. I don’t know when the internet marketing god going to update the page rank.

Web page footer cannot be ignored. Survey found that most of the internet customers tend to scroll down to seek the company address, more info and contact us information. So Placing a link for newsletter subscriptions at page footer will get more response.

Popup is not evil as perceived by many. Although they have sullied reputation, they can be tested on the landing page if potential subscriber or first page of the marketing site. Trying many different pop up format is very important for success.

Email format to remind your Brand

Newsletter subscribers relate the email format with Brand name. So, Customer may not recognize your newsletter email in case of any format changes. Use the same email template for newsletter; also send them in rotating schedule. Including one or two new or specific promotion or benefit of being your subscriber will prevent the existing subscriber
from trashing the newsletter without reading.

Yahoo! Pricing will be based on quality traffic from content websites.

Today I received email from Yahoo Search Marketing Blog, that they are introducing new quality based pricing for traffics generated through it’s content network.

Their new algorithm of pricing will be monitoring the click traffic from each content provider and conversion ratio. No idea about how yahoo going to determine the quality of traffic? If it’s related to conversion or time spent, or number of pages visited or all have no idea.

Yahoo Quality Based Pricing Questions and Answer may through some lights.

As per my experience most of the clicks I get through yahoo search marketing is not genuine. So far the conversion rate is 6% where Google directed clicks generate 20-30% of sales.
